Examples
Modern Metal
Track Notes
A balance between a modern, polished, and immersive metal track (think Bring Me The Horizon and Architects) while retaining an aggressive, raw final product.
POP - ROCK
Track Notes
Einar’s influences were rooted in old-school rock, like AC/DC. In keeping with this we mixed a massive guitar sound, while incorporating the more modern production style of Nickelback.
Post Rock
Track Notes
‘A wall of sound’ was the main request for this song. We created an ‘oversized’ guitar sound from the various parts available, layered over a deep and powerful rhythm section.
Hardcore Metal
Track Notes
Natural, organic, and realistic vibe, reminiscent of a live performance, but with the added punch and weight of modern metal’s massive sound.
Punk-Rock/ Pop-Punk
Drawing from the influence of NOFX and Green Day’s as refernces with their ‘in your face’ sound we developed an agressive bass tone and allowed the guitars to be bright and presence, whilst, of course never being harsh.
Alternative - Full Band Acoustic
Imagine the sound from Frank Turner’s ‘England Keep My Bones,’ with added emphasis on achieving a particularly natural, convincing depth, and organic realism.
MODERN PROGRESSIVE ROCK
We set out to achieve a sound that is huge and heavy, while giving enough space for the progressive, effects-based guitars to shine through. The result is a dense, immersive track that pushes the boundaries of the genre.
We have had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most incredible artists and bands in the rock, metal, hardcore, and punk music communities.
Our extensive experience in these genres, combined with our commitment to offering unlimited revisions (though we are rarely asked for more than one), means we’ve never had an unhappy customer.

About The Mix Engineer...
As the chief mixing engineer at MusicMixMastering, my passion is delivering a final mix that is professional, immersive, and powerful.
This involves using a variety of tools and a unique approach for each song. However, some common elements in our process include strategic equalization to enhance, correct, and provide a unique space for each part of the mix.
Thoughtful and often aggressive use of compression is another key component, not only for creating consistency within the thick sounds of rock-based music but also for injecting excitement, intensity, and power.
The use of reverb, delay, and spatial effects adds depth and dimension to your tracks. It’s crucial to craft these effects within the context of the mix; it’s not just about turning them up. Effective use of reverb and delay involves creating the illusion of depth rather than simply increasing their levels.
We also use tools like tape saturation plug-ins, harmonic exciters, and distortion to add punch, power, and life to your music. These elements can add grit to important basslines in metal and rock, inject a sense of excitement, and enhance the overall impact of your sound.
Our mixing approach and tools are always tailored to the specific style of music. For instance, an upbeat pop-rock song requires drums that drive the track forward with power and punch, while a mellower rock track may benefit from a thicker, more saturated sound to emphasize its heaviness.
In modern rock and metal, vocals are often overlooked. These genres require the vocals to ‘sit’ well within the mix to be effective. Too much prominence can dilute the track’s power, so achieving a natural fit with other elements demands meticulous attention to detail.
Using a blend of exceptional analog and digital equipment, we ensure each mix and master meets commercial standards, regardless of genre, while realizing the band’s vision for their music.

FAQ
Mixing involves taking each audio file in a recording session and blending them together. By using EQ, compression, and other processes to improve the sound of a song. By the end of the mixing stage, it should sound good everywhere and have been significantly enhanced by the process. Mastering involves taking the final mix as a whole and treating it with some final enhancement and bringing the level up.
Please send your audio files via Wetransfer an online file transfer tool. The free version provides plenty of space for major mix sessions. Get in touch with us if you encounter any problems with this process.
At the nominal fee of £20, we can prioritize your mix session. We will aim to deliver your mix within 24 hours. We guarantee it will be delivered within 48 hours of receiving the full working audio files. This can only be done with a single i.e) not an EP or Album and only one song at a time.
We will accept session files in Logic Pro X and Pro Tools. However, we allways prefer the audio to be sent seperatly so we can add them into our own custom session templates. This is the most efficient and effective way to send audio and will more likely result in a quicker turnaround time.
All audio files need to be sent in a high-quality format. These can include Wav, AIFF, or CAF files. They Should ideally be 24Bit and at least 44.1Kz. The standard exporting of audio files in most DAWs will result in such a file so don’t worry about it too much. And if you feel unsure about anything just get in touch and we can guide you!
Whilst we are not the cheapest mixing and mastering service, we are certainly not the most expensive. Other services with similar or higher prices do not provide better quality but typically are based in areas with a higher cost of living, such as London. Because our service is based in a comparatively cheaper area to live we pass on these savings to the customer. We also believe in providing superb value to our customers and building long-term relationships and we do not want high prices to act as a deterrent.
